President Signs Information Security Decree
The President of the Republic of Belarus signed Decree No. 449 “On improving state regulation in the field of information protection.” The text of the document has not yet been published, however, it is specified on the head of state’s website that the decree, among other things, is aimed at preventing “destructive information impacts and other information threats”.
It is noted that the implementation of measures provided for in the document will increase the security and reliability of information systems. The critical objects of informatization will include utilities, healthcare and education, as well as industrial, financial and fuel-energy sectors.
The presidential press service said that the decree is designed to ensure cyber resistance of critical informatization facilities.
