150 applications in two days: Belarusians are attacked by cyber fraudsters under the guise of banks
Belarus Ministry of Internal Affairs announces an ongoing wave of cyber fraud.
Attackers call bank customers from a swap number, introduce themselves as call center employees, declare an account blocked and ask for bank card details. Having learned the card data, they steal the money of the victims. It is reported that over the past two days alone, police received more than one and a half hundred statements and messages from victims of such a scheme. Similar cases have occurred before. One iron rule will help protect yourself from this: do not tell anyone the details of payment cards - bank employees never ask them, because the identification is done in a completely different way (for example, through a secret word).
